March 1st - A bit early for Seed Starting

by Darren Sherburne 03/01/2022

As we enter the month of March, our weather predictions are more of the same from February. The weather will facilitate some of our snow and ice melting, followed by a deep freeze, and so on and so forth. I decided that the winter doldrums had been enough, so I got my seeds started in my basement! All it takes is an efficient grow light, some handy peet pods in a moisture retaining tray from Oakes Brothers in Bradford, VT, and a selection of various seeds to provide a diverse selection of potential plants!

What you can see in the trays and pots above are various squashes, tomatoes, peppers, some unique flower varietals, and assorted greens. Their next home from the tray will be various pots and holders to facilitate their growth until they can be transplanted outside or they make it to their final housing.

It's truly amazing how much joy seeing a little sprout can bring, especially when you see lots of them! I love gardening and have found my green thumb requires a squeeze bottle of water to properly manage the moisture levels of my growing climate. A few space heaters help matters significantly as well.

The month of February did not slow down in regards to Real Estate! Several properties in and out of contract with various buyers, as well as the standard transactional stages for sell-side listings. It's a high velocity market, and having all your items in order before submitting an offer is key to securing a property.

Feel free to reach out with any Real Estate needs, as well as any indoor gardening questions! I'm always happy to help.

Happy March everyone!
