June Personal Post - Six Months of Home Ownership
by Darren Sherburne 06/03/2022
Here we are again. The start of another month, and this one marks Kate and I being home owners for half a year, six whole months. With work, travel, and maintenance of the home, May ended up being significantly quicker than I thought it would be. Time flies when you're having fun, and to say May wasn't a blast would be a blatant lie. We've been seeing an influx of listings, some really great ones too. The competition between buyers is still fierce, but contracts have been accomplished with perseverance and a dash of hope.
We've incredibly skipped over any form of Spring and jumped right into Summer, and it happened right at the mid-point of the month of May. The explosion of green was intense, and the haircut that our lawn required was regular. The amount of life around our property is spectacular, and to limit it to only plant life would be forgetting one of Kate's favorite things in recent, birds. That's all she wants, is the birds to come to our home and to eat the available seeds. She's also incredibly fond of the North Eastern Blue Bird that has taken up one of our bird boxes, photo of the chicks above. The intrinsic benefits of owning a home are great, and I hope that more of my peers are able to find their way into a similar situation.
I'll be brief again this month, but I am incredibly thankful for what I am able to do. The buyers and sellers that I work with are some of the kindest people, and I have found a number of transactions end up with long time friends or associates. The market is constantly evolving, but if buying or selling fits into your life plan I can't speak high enough to the benefits of having a property to call your home. Even if the garden is so grown up it requires a weed-whacking, the reward of seeing the progress a few hours can achieve enriches the soul.
Till next month, please feel free to reach out if I can ever be of assistance in any way. The above photos are of a blueberry bush and a patch of Rhubarb we inherited.
